This year, use your words wisely. They are a key component of your overall wellness.
Consider, for example, the ways you talk to yourself. Would you say the same things to your best friend? Would you let *anyone* talk to her that way? Now, why would you say those things to yourself?
Quiet the restless, worried voices that so often speak fear and judgment. Listen to the voices of warning and of instinct. And encourage the bright, clear, steady voices within you to speak loudly, offering wisdom, comfort, and joy.
And what of the words you speak aloud? There’s an interesting set of three questions that will help you when what you’re about to say puts a lump in your throat. Take a moment to consider:
1) Does this need to be said?
2) Does this need to be said *now*?
3) Does this need to be said by *me*?
In 2015, let’s use our voices to nurture, inspire, and uplift all those in our community—including ourselves. Happy new year!
