Studio FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Where can I park?   There is also ample street parking on Holmes  and Humboldt. Additionally, you may park behind the building, where there are 12 spots labeled “Resident Parking 3021 Holmes” (you do not need a parking pass to park out back! Come to the front of the building by walking through the porch area to its south). For our bike lovers we have bike racks right out front.
  • What should I bring? Yourself! Yoga mats are used for most group fitness classes and Asana Stretch; bring yours or borrow one of ours. Bring your water bottle! We provide face towels. Our locker rooms are stocked with shower towels, shampoo/conditioner and body wash, hair dryers, and other necessities if you would like to freshen up here at the studio. We also provide lockers and keys at no cost. For classes like Six° Strength, TRX/Circuit, and Cardio Dance, some students prefer to wear light gym shoes.
  • What’s the changing room/locker room situation? Our studio is committed to radical gender inclusivity. We have two locker rooms, and you choose which you’d like to use. If you’d prefer a private changing area, we have roomy, single-stall, locked-door, all-gender restrooms. Like your body, your gender and gender expression are not up for debate; always let an instructor know if you feel that you have been questioned, censured, or excluded for any reason. And everything is handicap accessible, always.
  • What level classes should I take in Reformer PilatesStart with beginner and all-levels or consider our Reformer 101 series. After about 5-10 classes (or on a teacher’s advice), move up to intermediate. After another 10-20, if you’re comfortable try advanced! We offer periodic 6-week primer series to help you “level up.” Check our workshops and series page to see the next 101, 201, or 301 Reformer Pilates series. Pilates Chair classes are open to all levels, with classes limited to just 3 students.
  • Do you have any specials going on? Any current promotions will be easy to find on Facebook, ask at the front desk, or give us a call. If you have never tried an unlimited New Student Month, you can take one at any time, even if you have been coming to Six Degrees for ages! It’s a great way to try out all the studio has to offer at a super cheap price: $99. Always be sure to pick up some referral cards at the front desk, too. Write your name on a card and give it to a friend who’s never been to Six Degrees, and she or he can take a group fitness class for just $10 and you’ll get a whopping 20% off your next class pack purchase. On a 20-pack, that’s $60!
  • I have a Groupon; how do I register? Please call the studio or stop in about 15 minutes before the class you’d like to take. The Groupon can be used for any of our studio’s classes except Pilates Reformer classes and Asana Stretch (our Thai yoga and assisted stretching class). That means all the Mat Pilates, Six° Barre, TRX/Circuit, Guided Meditation, Primal Strength, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Six° Slow Burn Barre you can handle! Please note: space is limited, so registration is always a good idea.
