How Six° Supports Summer Fun

bootcamp julyWhen the sun comes out and we Minnesotans emerge from indoors, blinking into the light and wary that the beautiful weather will last, it suddenly becomes hard to think of spending even an hour inside. But here are some reasons to come spend an hour at Six°, even if it’s just on the way to the lake!

  • Workouts with skilled pros help develop what you need for summer shenanigans, whether it’s the balance and core strength to enjoy stand-up paddle boarding or paddle board yoga, or the endurance to take on the full, 10-mile running or walking loop around Lake of the Isles, Lake Calhoun, and Lake Harriet.
  • Did we mention we’re on the way to the lakes, with free parking across the street evenings and weekends? You’ll barely break your stride stopping in for a TRX circuit!
  • Our summer Mind-Body Camp and Core Camp are designed to take your workouts outside with the incomparable Karen Piacquadio. Spend 2 weeks bonding with new friends, building confidence, and crossing “gym” off your to-do list first thing.
  • Mixing up your workouts keeps your body humming along, adaptable and eager for the next adventure. Try out Core Boxing, Barre, or a weekday morning Vinyasa to open up new ideas.
  • Speaking of open, Six° happily boasts big windows and summer breezes… and mirrors? No need! Looking at nature’s proven to improve fitness performance and mood; come on in to get a different view and dream up your day’s activities while getting longer and stronger on a Pilates reformer.
  • The Twin Cities and cyclists go together like Pitbull and every pop song made today. Use our Pilates-based classes (hint: all of them!) to build core strength to prevent lower back pain and neck strain when you hit the trails on your trusty steed (err… 10-speed?).
  • After a long day of gardening, what better way to restore your body than an evening Asana Stretch? Soon you’ll be blossoming just like your perennial beds.
  • Love team sports like softball and pick-up basketball? That same camaraderie is what the community we build here at Six° taps into—sweating, laughing, stretching, and changing together is transformative in more ways than one.
