Six Degrees continues to evolve, creating new classes and bringing in new modes of fitness to support our diverse clientele and challenge everyone who comes through our doors. Assisting in that effort, of course, are some fresh faces. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing you to our newest team members and hoping you’ll connect with them in an upcoming class!
Joe Praska holds a 230-hour yoga certification, but considers himself a beginner every day. He’s a former rugby player, enjoys bicycling, and has become an avid barre student. When he’s not in the studio, he works in early childhood education.
Trista McGlynn is a certified yoga instructor who came to the practice as a stress and anxiety relief method. Now a teacher, she finds she’s most excited to return to her student role, gathering information and knowledge that she can bring into her own classroom. She’s well on her way to becoming a licensed Real Estate Agent.
Stacy Mueller says it was curiosity that brought her to yoga and the physical and mental challenges that pushed her to become a certified instructor. Just as her students grow and change with each class, Stacy believes in keeping her “beginner’s mind” and learning every day. She stops to take ten deep, conscious breaths at least once a day.
Kayla Emmons is a certified barre teacher who is working toward Pilates and Vinyasa Yoga certification. She describes the past few years as ones of radical reinvention and brings that spirit into the classroom by constantly innovating to build strength and flexibility in equal balance in every body. Kayla believes health starts with movement and community.
Josh Page is a certified barre teacher and avid athlete—when he’s not busy as a professor of sociology and law at the U of M and as a food writer for the online magazine HeavyTable.com. He’s all about a balanced, active life (and will never give up naps!).
