To join us for the last bootcamp of the summer, of course! For two weeks, a ragtag team of campers will meet every weekday morning at 6:30am, ready to master some basics and establish a daily workout routine together. You’ll recognize signature moves from Align’s complement of classes: yoga, Pilates, and barre all make their appearances. And it may be tough, but this class is also supportive and fun, starting and ending with a half-mile walk or jog and a lot of boisterous fitness in between.
Align’s summer bootcamps, led by Heather Runman, have several goals: they help build a core fitness practice (that is, a habit of getting your groove on every day), they help connect you with other people who share your goals, and they help establish a workout you can do anywhere. Bootcamp emphasizes proper form and increased strength, and you’ll see results in just two short weeks.
Personally, I* was astounded at bootcamp’s effect on my strength. In July, I went to my first yoga class in over a year; afterward, I practically ran out of the studio to triumphantly text my bootcamp comrades. It was the strongest I’d ever felt! Another bootcamper, Jen, tells me:
Bootcamp was way more addictively fun than I’d anticipated—bonding and making new friends, soaking up Heather’s energy and positivity, and getting stronger and leaner. My two bootcamp sessions ended up being the best 20 days of my summer!
Gail, Jen’s workout buddy, adds,
Jen kind of pleaded. Begged really. “Come on, bootcamp will be great… Heather is so inspiring… you’ll have your workout over before many people begin their day.” Deep down, she knew that I wanted to see if I could do it. And after Day 1, I looked forward to it every morning.
Gail concedes, “There are ‘have to’s’ in life, and bootcamp is definitely not one of those!” But she says, “I’m old enough to realize that when I can, I should. And, like usual, I was rewarded after bootcamp—I was so glad I did it.”
August’s Align bootcamp starts Monday the 12th and ends Friday the 23rd. Campers meet at Align’s Uptown Minneapolis studio, and class is held at Bryant Square Park (if you’re short on time, you can meet us there). The class costs $150 ($135 for studio members). Pro tips: lay out your workout gear the night before (it helps with the early morning alarm), slather on sunscreen, and revel in starting each day with an hour dedicated to your own well-being.
